About the Author

12 We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise. 13 We, however, will not boast beyond proper limits, but will confine our boasting to the sphere of service God himself has assigned to us, a sphere that also includes you.  2 Corinthians 10:12-13 NIV

Like many individuals, I have spent a lifetime of comparing myself to my standards, the world’s expectations, and how others live.  In a world full of reality television where judging against others is celebrated, this website offers another measuring stick from which one can measure his or her life, the very standard provided by God.

How Do I Measure Up?  is committed to helping Christians to turn from the complacency and pride of measuring ourselves against our own standards and the standards of others and to turn towards humility and repentance found when we measure against the standards set by God.  The most important standard is becoming a child of God (see blog “Falling Short”).   How do you measure up?  Please join me in exploring God’s purposes and standards for our lives.
