Have you ever witnessed a teenage boy eating? It seems that we have just had dinner, and my son is hungry again. I’ve seen him eat 3 pork chops at one meal and an entire small pizza at another. It seems to me that he just can’t get enough to satisfy. You see, he is a growing boy. Growing boys are HUNGRY.
I always knew when my children were about to grow. As babies, they would be fussy and tired. Then, they would develop large appetites. Then, after receiving nourishment, they grew – almost overnight.
My last few blogs have reflected on growing times when my understanding of God and who He is grew out of making sense of pain. There is a deep and abiding hunger during these times – a hunger for God’s word. Sure, we may get weary and even fussy just like our children, but there is something that we crave – God’s word. After we have been properly fed, we can see the spiritual growth, sometimes overnight.
It’s not the destination in life that defines us; it is the journey. This is our never ending quest to learn all we can about God. Stay hungry, my friends.
Psalms 34:8

John 6:33-35
“For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world.” Then they said to Him, “Lord, always give us this bread.” Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.
