Exodus 5:22-23
Moses went back to God and said, “My Master, why are you treating this people so badly? And why did you ever send me? From the moment I came to Pharaoh to speak in your name, things have only gotten worse for this people. And rescue? Does this look like rescue to you?”
If you have ever followed God, you probably can empathize with Moses. After all, God said he was going to rescue his people and things have only gotten worse.
And rescue? Does this look like rescue to you?
Isaiah 55:8
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD.”
Don’t be discouraged if the plan doesn’t look like you thought when you follow God in faith.
After all, Sarah felt that way.
Genesis 18:12
So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, “After I am worn out and my lord is old, will I now have this pleasure?”
So did Naaman.
2 Kings 5:11
But Naaman went away angry and said, “I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me of my leprosy.
I have felt this way. But faith sees far differently than our eyes.
2 Corinthians 5:7
For we live by faith, not by sight.
It is in these moments that we cling to faith as our sight. For sense and reason are no match for the wonderous plans of our Lord. If God promised you, he will. It may not look as you expected, and you are in great company!
