The success of any play depends upon the talent and vision of the director. The director perfects each step, each line, each scene until it plays perfectly. In my experience, I’ve seen directors pull talent from individuals that I just couldn’t see. If they trust the director and give into their direction, then something amazing happens. Their natural talent shines through and the entire story comes to life.
Psalms 119:133
Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me.
Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
Our children perform for a local theater. My daughter plays a role completely opposite from her normal disposition. She has grown through the process, and the director has found talent in her that I didn’t know existed. The director could see that budding talent when I could not and found ways to develop and grow my daughter’s ability. The director maintains firm control of the cast and what happens on stage, and the show sparkles under the director’s vision.
In the previous post about election day, we revisited individuals who felt that they were ill equipped for their appointed positions. The truth — they were. As humans, they lacked the vision and the ability to impact the world. Under the divine director, they assumed their place on history’s stage and played a part that they didn’t anticipate. They grew; and the world changed.
Dear God, help us rely upon you to direct our steps. Amen.
